A Four Year Probate Battle Over a Small Estate
The short answer

The attorney showed up to when we got everything settled. The siblings were going to go to the house, and what was left in the house, they were going to do a lottery. So, like, everybody goes in and picks something. So, okay, it's your turn, go grab something. It's your turn, go grab something. If there's something in dispute, we'll put it to the side and we'll draw lots. Pretty typical when you don't have everybody in agreement.
Sibling A's attorney showed up and started putting things in their car from the estate, because sibling A is like, you can have this. It was very weird. There was some weird things. So that one will always stand out to me just because of the crazy shenanigans.
And like I said, this was four years, so there was so many other things that happened. Those were just kind of the highlights. And so that one will probably always stick with me. And I will say that the three siblings, their legal fees were over six figures by the time it was done.
They decided that it was worth it to make sure that this was split fairly. So that one was one that I think I will always remember.
